Alaska Street Inter-Quarter Tournament 2.1

Sunday, June 30, 2013

The team that I am coaching in this tournament, CFDP 2, played its first match of the competition today. The final score was 0-0.

One thing that I forgot to mention in my previous post about this tournament is that it is a dimacatch competition. Dimacatch is just like soccer, except that the goals on either end of the field are really small—like 2-ft. x 2-ft—and each team plays with only eight players. The main problem here is obviously that the goals are too small! Each team just sticks one man in front of the goal for the entire match and then no one ever scores! Aside from the match that my team lost 1-0 a week ago, which is slightly embarrassing given the truth about the goal size, I don’t think anyone has scored a goal yet. Ha! Oh well. It’s an experience at the least.
